Why Choose Guide92

Why Choose GUIDE92

GUIDE92 was established in 2016 and is an innovative inclusive alternative provision which works in partnership with young learners, their families, schools and employer partners to establish outreach support for students aged 11 to 16. We have learning environments developed to support the delivery of National Curriculum subjects and Emotional Intelligence through a wide range of teaching and learning strategies that are holistic in meeting the various social and emotional needs of all learners.

GUIDE92 will, via a range of approaches including outreach work and staff CPD, seek to reengage our most challenging and vulnerable students so that they can make the progress of which they are capable and ultimately match school targets, whilst developing the skills to enable them to return to mainstream education or to progress onto further education, apprenticeships or employment.

GUIDE92 caters for students who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to meet the expectations of mainstream schools and whose behaviour and discrete needs puts them at risk of fixed term or permanent exclusion.  Some students may have been excluded for a fixed term but benefit from a period of alternative provision before being reintegrated back into their school.  Alternatively, there are students who are experiencing specific social, emotional and behavioural difficulties who benefit from a part time programme or therapeutic provision to address their particular problems.  Some students have specific undiagnosed needs and a minority may have already been excluded permanently and require targeted support to help them develop the necessary skills and qualifications to become successful adults.

GUIDE92 has a strong commitment to working in partnership with local schools to develop outreach support which meets the needs of the most vulnerable learners. To support successful learning programmes at KS2, KS3 and KS4 there are strong links with Senior leadership teams, SENCO’s, teachers and support staff to ensure continuity of provision and successful re-integration where appropriate.

Learners have full-time or part-time provision at GUIDE92 and are supported by specialist staff and personalised learning programmes with some learners having a targeted work experience related approach.
